This was a great shoot for me, back to Great Waltham where I used to live. Great Waltham is a pretty village just North of Chelmsford, but feels a bit like its miles from anywhere. We decided to walk the boys down to Langleys, a privately-owned stately home and gardens in the village. Unfortunately, the house is not open to the public, but the surrounding park is and a familiar place for Sam and Joseph, just like it is for my two boys.
We walked and chatted, fed the cows, played pooh sticks, threw leaves around and had fun. A natural, laid back shoot. I wanted the family to have photos of what they would do normally if I wasn’t there. I think these are the best kind of photos to have of your children. The ones that will help you relive the days when they are little when you’re struggling to prize them off their xbox!
After an hour or so out in the cold it was time to head back. When we got back to their house Joseph asked me if I was joining them for tea. I’d never met him before the shoot so this was the biggest compliment. Loved spending time with this gorgeous family. I really have the best job!
